01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Part of the pleasure of yakitori is choosing not just the type of skewer, but how it is seasoned. At Torinosuke Abiko, seseri (chicken neck) can be ordered with tare and plenty of spring onion, with salt and grated daikon ponzu, or with garlic. For kokoro (chicken heart), options include tare and spring onion, salt and grated daikon ponzu, or spring onion and garlic. Regular customers have also praised the choice of tare, salt and cheese seasonings for the skewers.

If you are not sure what to order, the menu’s 10-skewer platter (1,100 yen) is a good place to start, followed by any skewers that catch your eye. Individual options include offal (176 yen), chicken wings (143 yen) and sunazuri (chicken gizzard, 121 yen). Beyond yakitori, there are bacon-wrapped asparagus and enoki mushrooms, as well as mochi wrapped in bacon, served with a choice of tare or ponzu.

An all-you-can-eat menu is available regularly, and all-you-can-drink is also an option. You can order skewers a few at a time or choose dishes from the all-you-can-eat menu, depending on your group and appetite. One diner recalled enjoying yakitori with bottled beer; beer, wine and cocktails are also available.
